General description: 

Small annual herbs, 2.5–20 cm tall; stems runner or creeping, rooting at nodes, pubescent. Leaves pinnately nerved; petiolee 0.4–2 cm long; lamina elliptic, ovate-oblong, obovate or orbicular, 1–6 x 0.8–3 cm, apex rounded or obtuse, base attenuate, margins serrate, scabrous. Inflorescences terminal, lax raceme; pedicel 0.5–1.2 cm long; bract linear-lanceolate, 4–8 mm long. Calyx tubular, 7–12 mm long, 5-lobed; lobes divided almost to the base, linear-lanceolate; apex acuminate, glabrous. Corolla pinkish purple to purple, 8–18 mm long; upper lip oblong, emarginsate, 4–5.5 mm wide; lower lip broadly 3-rounded lobes, 11–14 mm wide. Stamens 2 posterior fertiles, 2 anterior staminodes; posterior filaments straight, glabrous, 1.7‒2.2 mm long; anterior filaments staminodes, yellow, filliform, 1.6‒2 mm long, buttress at base, uncinately curved at apex. Capsules cylindric, acuminate at apex, glabrous, 8–20 x 1.5–2 mm, longer than calyx lobes. Seeds numerous, narrowly ellipsoid, ovoid, ellipsoid or subglobose, 0.40‒0.52 x 0.32‒0.47 mm, pitted.

Exposed area in dry evergreen forest, riversides, 200‒1,600 m altitudes; flowering and fruiting throughout the year
